Shape a modular ship and its interior, with a purpose for the space you create.
A sci-fi sandbox in development by Casilian Studios
Build a ship block by block. Lead people who carry their experience with them. Explore a vast galaxy where the systems aboard your ship and the world beyond it are meant to connect.

01 / The experience
Grevara’s vision starts with a ship you can build and inhabit. Its hull, rooms, crew, and internal systems are intended to be part of the same experience, rather than separate modes that never affect one another.
Construction changes how you live aboard. Damage changes what the ship can do. The people you delegate to shape how problems are handled. Exploration gives those choices somewhere to lead.
Read the gameplay visionThe larger goal is a sandbox where you can move between personal-scale decisions and the wider galaxy: build, fly, explore, command, recover, and return. First-person and third-person ship flight are part of that intended experience.
This is a project in development. The pages describe both the design vision and the smaller engineering prototypes currently used to prove it. The development snapshot makes that distinction explicit.

Updated 12 October 2026. Software-tested foundations and native player-facing acceptance are tracked separately.
05 / Technology
Grevara is being built on Maple Engine, Casilian’s custom C++ and Willow foundation. The design aims to vary simulation and presentation detail according to context, so a large world does not require every place to run at the same level of detail all the time.
Seven simulation/detail levels are the finished design target. Five host tiers exist in the current prototype. Five tiers describe the current crew prototype. Seven simulation/detail levels remain the broader design target.
Support for lower-end hardware is a goal. It is not a published minimum specification or a guarantee for every machine. Windows device behavior, audible playback, and Vulkan rendering still require native verification for current changes.
Technology & performanceModding is part of the longer-term vision. Specific modding interfaces, compatibility, and distribution details have not been announced.
06 / Common questions
Grevara is in development. This site does not announce a public game download or playable release. The Captain engineering prototype is a development foundation, not the full sandbox.
Windows and Steam are planned. There is no release date or public Steam store link announced on this site.
Single-player is the first focus. Multiplayer is a later goal after the single-player foundation, rather than a currently available feature.
The NPC vision uses non-LLM memory, learning, relationships, jobs, and delegation. Current work demonstrates bounded mechanisms in the Captain prototype; it does not establish the entire social world as complete.
The Where We Are page is a dated snapshot that distinguishes established prototype systems, software-tested changes, remaining native verification, the next integrated slice, and the longer-term vision.
